Hmmmmmmmm. Well, I certainly will retract the aspersions I cast on kubicle's typing skills -- they are apparently impeccable!

But, that is an odd change to the command format -- obviously it was "lsb-release" until recent times, and prolly still is on other versions and distros.

I'm not really sure myself. Other places I've read show the "-" and not "_". Weird.

It's lsb_release in Debian unstable (sid), which is running on my laptop, can't speak for etch as I can't access my server atm.

Also make sure package 'lsb-release' is installed (yes, the package is called lsb-release not lsb_release :P)

Yep, I type lsb and can tab all I want... All I get is dreadful beeping. I'm not bothered about installing it but would be nosy enough to view the output if anybody cared to post it

yes... works on Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy by typing : lsb_release -a
