ok, just a quick question about installing kde4 through gutsy. for some reason i downloaded the kde4 live cd (without all the needed packages), and am wondering if i will be able to install from that cd to the regular gutsy kde3. as my internet access is VERY slow, and don't have time to download via 'apt-get'

I doubt it, as that cd is based on Hardy, so there are bound to be base library and kernel differences. You can try, as it should fail to install if this is the case, so no harm to your system

you can add a Kubuntu cdrom in Adept's Manage Repository section, under the Third Party. You may already have an entry for Gutsy's cdrom in there, eb=nabling that may work for a Hardy disk, but I have not tried either of these myselfComment
