Having used linux for many years and ubuntu / kubuntu for good few of these I am stuck. I have tried booting the last couple of distros of kubuntu onto a samsung r60plus laptop. In all cases eventually the computer stops at a command prompt with nothing. Have tried a dpkg-reconfigure to get graphics working but zip. Does anyone know if / how it is possible to install kubuntu onto this machine.

tried everything in that section with no luck. Just tried Mandriva and it works well. Not sure where to go from here.Comment

all sorted and working well. None of the live cd's work ut with the alternate install cd everything works ok. Then use ndiswrapper to get wireless working.
