I installed Kubuntu 7.10 64-bit on an encryted partition using alternate installer with grub and when booting the Kernel ... page comes up briefly, then the screen is turned off (not just blank - there is no signal!). I can boot successfully with the recovery version offered in grub and boot into KDE with 'init 5', the resolution and everything is fine. I run an Intel Q6600 quad core and XFX 8600 GT 256MB (Nvidia chip).
- If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
