Graphics on Dell M1530 with Nvidia Go 8400m

    Hi everyone,

This is my first real try of Kubuntu after using PCLOS for quite a while. Still a bit of a noob. I have a Dell M1530 with a Nvidia 8400m graphics card. I have noticed that everything works fine and that the OS looks great. The only thing i want to improve is the graphics.

When you drag a window around the screen it is not as smooth as it should be and is very lumpy. I have tried changing loads of settings but no joy.

    Anyone got any ideas?

use "adept" to check that the "nvidia-glx-new" package be installed.
that's the package with the nvidia (restricted) driver.
once that is installed, you'll find "nvidia settings" under kmenu -> system.
you can use that to configure your graphics server.
i'm not 100% sure all acceleration directives will be added automatically.
but once you're done, please, start a "konsole" and post here the result of:
    Code:
    cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
which is the graphics server's (the X server, that is) configuration file.

    cheers
