    Canon LBP2900 -printer not working

I installed Gutsy Gibbon today and tried to install my Canon LBP2900 -printer using this guide: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ha...Canon_LBP_2900 . After that the printer appears on the printer list, but when trying to print anything, it just keeps on "processing" until I cancel it. Cups printer management page shows "/usr/lib/cups/backend/ccp failed" -message.

This printer worked with 7.04, so what has changed with this release and how can I fix this?

I have the same problem with kubuntu 8.10. I tried to follow any suggestion found in all ubuntu/kubuntu forums but still the printer doesn't print. Have you finally found the solution? Please let me know :-

Re: Canon LBP2900 -printer not working

I have had issues with canon printers in the past. The solution I found was here.

      http://www.turboprint.info/

It is not free. A license fee is required, but I have several canon photo printers that this supplies the driver for. There is a list of supported printer and a 30 free trial. If all else fails check out turboprint for the drivers you need.
