I want an alarm clock. No! at or cron are NOT alarm clocks!

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a nice alarm clock and finding ZIP. Oh, there are a lot of web pages saying how easy it is to set up a cron job or use at to play a sound file. NO THANK YOU.

Kalarm is annoying too. I just want the damn laptop to beep at me when I tell it to. Why do I have to make a new event? It's cumbersome. Why do I have to specify a sound file? All the beeps are in /lib/usr/share/whatthehellever and they're annoying to find each time. Kalarm will work I guess, but how about giving an option for a buzz or beep next to the email, file, text, command options?

xmms-alarm is actually beautiful. Pull up the plugin, set a time, you're done.

    Have you tried kteatime?

Its more a timer countdown, but it works.

Have you tried right clocking on the taskbar clock and looking at the alarm options?

Oh sorry, I replaced the standard KDE clock with styleclock (its in the repos) It offers the alarm option.
