 Re: KOffice on Install

I remember reading some time ago that there are plans to install koffice by default in the future (probably when koffice 2.0 is released, if it turns out to be what is expected).

There already is a move in this direction in feisty, where Kexi has replaced OOBase in the default install.

 Re: KOffice on Install

I think that KOffice should be the default too. I dislike OpenOffice, and including KOffice on Kubuntu by default would help improving it (as there would be more bug reporting, maybe a couple more developers that would join the project, etc).

 Re: KOffice on Install

Why? There are some good programs that use GTK. I use Linux because it doesn't limit my choices. You are free to use only Qt and console programs if you wish, but don't infringe on my right to use GTK programs where I deem appropriate. If I wanted vendor lock in, I'd get a Mac.Kubuntu should be 100% gtk+ free IMO.
