    Thank you,

    Re: Adding printers

    i think you can go two different ways.
    a) kmenu -> system settings -> printers
    b) http://localhost:631 in your preferred browser

    if you simply want a job viewer,
    there's kmenu -> utilities -> print jobs

      Re: Adding printers

      I have tried both options. Do you know if the KDEPrint manager is preinstalled or do i need to install it? Thank you for your fast response.

        To recognise a printer

        1 - go to kmenu - system settings - printer
        2 - delete falsely recognised printer
        3 - unplug printer
        4 - plug in printer
        5 - icon will appear in taskbar saying that new printer is being installed
        6 - after a while it says name of printer and printer driver used - if this is generic you have to install manufacturer specific drivers
        I didn't know this worked in Feisty
        HP Pavilion dv6 core i7 (Main)
        4 GB Ram
        Kubuntu 18.10

          Fintan - thank you for pointing this out.

          I should really look at which forum things are being posted under! I got a kubuntu feed for akregator and it covers plain all subforums, so I don't necessarily pay enough attention...

          Sorry about that, learnt a lesson and will delete last post
