My gparted bin seems to be buggered. Here is the result of trying to run. Please help a noob:

    Minor opcode: 3

    Re: gparted problem

This looks suspiciously like the wacom "no device here" error, caused by the default wacom drivers in xorg.conf. If so, it is irrelevant to anything -- an artifact of a dumb assumption in designing the default xorg.conf file contents.

Plus, why am I seeing VirtualBox in the prompt string -- are you trying to run GParted from VirtualBox? That doesn't sound like a plan, to me.

Try getting out of VirtualBox, and clicking KMenu>System>Gnome Partition Editor (or GParted) and see if that brings up the application. It is a GUI app, so I would expect a GUI command to run it would be needed. Alternatively, you might open the "run" box with Alt-F2 and enter "kdesu gparted" there.

Be careful -- GParted is a powerful utility for, among other things, changing the contents of your hard drive and partitions from something to nothing ....
