    Adept installer crawlingly slow

There is a long 30sec. pause each time I click on an item to remove, I know it has to check for dependency but why not do it at one time after I finish the selection, so that I can take a nap and come back ! there is no hard disk and internet activity during such long pause so this is not memory and network congestion problem, and P3-866 is not too bad for Linux, is it ?

This is a bump - I'm having this same problem. I have a Compaq Presario v6000 with a 1.7GHz AMD64 and 1.5M - a pretty decent machine. The Adept Installer is super slow. Clicking on an app to install it locks up adept for a good minute before the "X" appears.

      Open console and type:
      Code:
      df -hT
You are looking to see how much disk space is reported as available in your / (root) partition as well as your /home (if you have one). It is quite likely that you are running low on disk space.
