Re: Firefox crashes: is Feisty a lemon?

The solution of your problems is to recompile gtk-qt-engine package. download the source and recompile with checkinstall, if possible for you, so you can rename gtk-qt-engine 0.71.2 (for example), and upgrade the original ubuntu package without problem with apt-adept-synaptic.

I don't know why this package for ubuntu developers is a black sheep...anyway works for me and it solved also synaptic and root applications visualization

    Cheers

I'd wondered about that. Will try tonight.

Now, I do recall that whenever I try to run a graphical application from the terminal I get an error message - I'll post it later.

        Hi,

I have tried of course to run Firefox from the terminal. Apart from the "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" message when it crashes, there is no other output at all...
