    Dls disconnects every other day

I'm tired of this problem. My dsl modem disconnects every other day when i want to use it.
So, in order to reconnect, I turn off the power to the modem and then i reset it. And it takes several times or turning off and resetting before I get my connection homepage where i type in my username and password and then it connects. I'm a newbie and i'm still running kubuntu 7.04, (too scared to upgrade). Thinking of getting a new computer but in the meantime any help would be appreciated. The tech guys at the ISP just sent me a new modem but the same problem persists. The modem model is Aztech dsl605eu.
And the computer is wired to the modem (not wireless)

It's unlikely that the Operating System is the cause of the problem. DSL connections do expire, and the length of the expiration time may be a setting in your modem.
Do you log in to your modem using a browser (firefox, konqueror, etc)? If so, make sure you clear the browser cache before reconnecting; that could be why it is taking several tries.

Ok, I'll try that next time it happens. Thanks
