    knetworkmanager not starting

I am trying to get the knetworkmanager to run and it doens't want to behave..

    Some background:

Initially I was running vanilla Ubuntu and installed KDE to add some spice - I have had it connected
wirelessly and using a cable (wire) to the internet and now for some reason I can not even get knetworkmanager to fire up at all.
I still have the gnome network manager and it runs but doesn't help at the moment to get my wireless connectivity working..

    any help would be fabulous!

For me, KNetworkmanager makes networking (especially wireless) difficult. It seems to make Kubuntu forget internet settings on boot.

I removed it and set up internet via start/system settings/network settings. Enter administrator mode and then enable then configure the device. That ought to work for you.

I found another post in the forums that said something similar aobut problems with knetworkmanger.
It also mentioned installing wireless assistant and kwifimanger which are working perfectly..

. . . until you reboot the system. Then the network settings are back to some standard stuff that does not make a connection. You will have to reset the settings to the working combination.

I know because that is how I got my system to work.

I ascertained that in my case it was knetworkmanager that appeared to be taking over on boot-up and overriding (no actually removing) the settings I had put in. As a consequence removing knetworkmanager entirely and simply allowing the system to start the connection at boot fixed it for me. Works on bootup for me every time.
