    No User Twice

Twice I've had install problems with Kubuntu not asking for a username on install, and leaving me logged out after install. Once with Edgy, and once with Feisty Fawn. I had to reinstall both times for it to ask for a user. Just a heads up...

    Re: No User Twice

    Hi,
I've had exactly the same problem but with Kubuntu 64 Edgy, drove me crazy. You've probably tried this already, but log in as OEM using the password you set up in the install. Good luck, let me know if it worked.
    Regards
    Mark

Yeah, like I said, I just reinstalled it. Does OEM have equal powers as root?

Sorry, don't know the answer to that one.
In my case I entered oem in the user box and my password in the password box and bang, after tearing my hair out on four installs, I was in. Standard user.
I became quite concerned that during the installation a user name was not asked for.
        Hope it works for you.
