    p5b jmicron

I have tried many distros, but feisty fawn is the only one that will boot from a live cd, and run. I have sound, and I asume that it is recognizing the cd rom, since i can read its contents from linux.

Each time i select the install icon on the desktop, it starts to run but does nothing and goes away after about a minute.

Is there any way that i could take the kernel from Feisty Fawn (daily build - Dec,11,06) and intigrate it into an Edgy Live CD release to install with? Or compile a custom kernel and intigrate that into an Edgy Live CD?

One thing you can try is to download the feisty alternate installer CD. It doesn't have a fancy GUI, but it's as easy to install with it (and in my experience it's in many cases more 'trustworthy' than the desktop installer).

You can download the 'Alternate CD' iso from here:

Do note that feisty is still in alpha stage, so even if it's working now, further upgrades may temporarily break it before the release in April.
