    Dual Boot Vista and Kubuntu

    Hi,

I would like to dual boot Vista and Kubuntu with Vista being already present on my hardrive. I want to know if I should shrink vista first as I want to install Kubuntu using automatic partitioning using longest running free space.

I'm somewhat nervous about doing this because I know there is a problem with the Vista bootloader and dont remember where I found the solution for this.

    My Computer:
    Windows Vista Home Basic
    Processor: AMD Sempron(TM) Processor 3000+ 1.81 GHz
    Memory (ram) 703 MB
System Type: 32 bit operarting system
    80 Gig hard drive
    Nividia GeForce 6100 (microsoft-WDDM)

    Vista disk manager:
    Disk 0
    Basic - 74.53 GB
    (C 74.53 GB
    online
    Capacity; 74.53 GB - Free 51.29 GB - %free 68%

    Thanks in advance

      Hello,
      I would recommend two things:
      1. Try to shrink the partition from within Vista, if possible.
      2. Do not use automatic partitioning in Kubuntu. Set the partitions manually.
      Cheers,
