    I had this problem too. After setting my repositories back to edgy, getting the KDE pre-Feisty packages, and rebooting, the upgrade wizard did work properly. Hopefully this will work for others as well.

      I have the same problem and still no luck.

      I did sudo dpkg --configure -a

      I have deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-356-pre-feisty-upgrade/ edgy main in the repos and did install the pre-feisty KDE packages.

      All packages are up to date.

      But: "Ready to upgrade!" -> "Finish" ->

      Another question: in the the upgrade procedure instructions it says: "If your system is up to date, the upgrade wizard will appear or you can choose it via the Version Upgrade button." What is this button? I don't see any button at all.

      Has anyone gotten this right?

        After a adding the pre-release to my sources.list. I was able to get the Upgrade tool running, however I get the following:

        Failed to fetch http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/dists/edgy/Release Unable to find expected entry main/binary-amd64/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
        Can anyone tell me why it is trying to fetch package information from wine to begin with? I don't use wine, i don't even have it installed, and I don't want to use it. Why is it forcing wine to be in the repository when I currently do not have it?

          nevermind, I found the winehq.list in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, removing it, remove the problem.

            This worked for me. I added pre-feisty repository, upgraded, rebooted (don't forget that part, folks), started Adept Manager and clicked on "Fetch updates". After the known message, I clicked on "Finish" and Adept Manager was closed automatically. So was the Upgrade Tool started automatically.

              I have the same issue as you guys, however the steps described did not resolve my problems. Running adept_updater from the command line gives the following output (this log is from the time the wizard runs).
