    TV Card help

OK well, I figure instead of stumbling like a blind man int he dark through Adept trying to find the right program, I was hoping you guys can at least steer me in the right direction.

I have a Sabrent SBT-TVFM TV capture card. Sorry, can't get nay more specific than that. Its a couple years old but as far as I can tell still works fine. Windows COULD use it, but it had trouble recording audio, so I figured I'd try using it in here. :P

So, what programs are out there and how can I tell which I need?

I am not familiar with that card, but I have had the best luck with mythtv.

Admittedly, it is weak compared to my windows favorite GB-PVR, but it is OK for TV. Mythmusic is terrible and I am trying to find an alternative. Mythtv is a bit fiddly and unfortunately, the primary route for support is a mailing list rather than a forum. I have had very little luck getting problems solved via that list, but have been able to find answers by googling. Good luck.

Think I could run the stock software through Wine?

            Re: TV Card help

I found it quite a challenge to get my PVR-150 working at all, so I wrote a little guide:

            http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3085164.0

Subsequently, Gutsy recognizes it and so the "IVTV" installation part may not be necessary any more.

My problem is I'm not seeing anything close in the selection box to what I have. Not to mention I know greek about the thing itself. :P
