Hi,
I have problems with Geforce 4 440 Go video card. I can't seem to figure out how to install the drivers with acceleration for it properly.
I did fallow some of the tutorials. I have got Automatix, tried the not so free drivers. Doesn't work.
Using Automatix did the same thing as before. I get a black screen and I don't mean just black screen. The screen just turns off. When I switch to concosle by using ALT+F1 everything is fine. The only problem is with KDE.
My configuration is as fallows.
Laptop:
Evesham Voyager 5815+3.0sep3
Mainboard: Mitac 8640,
Processor: Intel 3.06 GHz HT
gfx: GeForce 4 Go 440 64M <--- linux sees it as 420 32M, so it is not even recognized properly,
BIOS: Insyde <--- not sure if it's relevant, (continous anoyance, can't access more advanced options)
I'm not really that advanced to figure out how to solve this problem. Does any of you have any idea what is wrong or what can be done to diagnoze what is the problem?
