    sound yesterday no sound today

    I have no Idea what happened here. The only clue I have is dmsg had some error about kxineplayer segfault. I have restarted the xserver and rebooted a couple times.

    What does the Kmixer show as your output device? Open it (right click the little speaker icon on your panel), check the output devices, make sure it is not muted, and maybe try switching from ALSA to OSS device (meanwhile testing with Amarok or mplayer or some media player), to see if it makes any difference.

      definitely something with kmix. I adjusted some of the settings and sound works again. Not sure what it was though.
