nForce 410 high def audio, can't get working, help please!

I've got an Asus A8n-vm motherboard, with nForce 410 audio. I did a clean install of kubuntu 7.04, and can NOT get the audio to work. I've read more forum posts and help pages than I can count, and nothing has worked. I just need a simple step by step guide.
I did lshw, and got this for audio.

    hi helwitch.
apologies for late post but ive only just installed kubuntu myself.
i also have an A8N-VM.With an athalon x64 3500+ processor.
initially i installed windows XP home with the same result(no sound).
i then installed windowsXP X64 and SOUNDMAX ADI ADI1986A loaded perfectly.
i have now dumped windows for kubuntu feisty fawn x64,soundmax loaded effortlessly.
i can only suggest you check your processor and if its x64.
i got my kubuntu x64 realease through the www.start64.com site, its also linked from the ubuntu mainpage.
    hope this helps,
