    Installing Opera on Kubuntu 6.06 amd64

    I have downloaded the .deb file from www.opera.com

    and now trying to install it.

    I go to Konsole and type :

    sudo dpkg -i opera_9.01-20060728.6-shared-qt_en_i386.deb

    and I get this::

    dpkg: error processing opera_9.01-20060728.6-shared-qt_en_i386.deb (--install):
    package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64)
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    opera_9.01-20060728.6-shared-qt_en_i386.deb
    kdar@kdar-desktop:~$

    what can I do to get this Opera installed..?

        I have no idea, but they (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Overkillbuntu, ...) are all essentially Ubuntu so most things you see written about one can be applied or adapted to another.

        Have you considered building from source? Us poor 64 bit users have to do that a lot.

          The main thing is.. i want to get flash working..

          And I hope that I could install it with Opera (I am not big on Opera.. but its nice soft)..

          I have installed FireFox (from adept), and have Konqueror... (they both work nice.. and if I could get flash working on one of them, it would be great)

          So.. did any got flash working on Konqueror or FireFox? if yes.. then maybe I could forget about Opera for later...

            Yes, I've been using it on Kubuntu breezy/dapper (with flash).

            Other ways to get flash to work with you 64bit browsers what you may wanna look at is nspluginwrapper (Howto) & this HowTo to use 32bit konqueror plugins.
