Some time ago I changed the background for konsole to transparent this was a novilty at first so I want to change it back, I can't. I have tried going through configure konsole and I have tried just changing the schema but the best I can do is change for the current session only.

then you may need to delete the konsolerc file found in /home/<your-username>/.kde/share/config/
The file may be corrupted, or somehow the permissions on the file are preventing it from being overwritten. If you delete that file, a new. clean file with the default settings will be created for you, which hopefully fixes this for you
