    No sound with Ardour

    Shalom everybody,

I've installed Ardour, jackd and qjackctl e few days ago.
The recording seems to work (see screenshot) and also I can see imported .wav files but there's no sound to hear !?
Thanks in advance for any help :-/

Do other sounds play (IE: mp3's)? If not, check you mixer settings...

another question...do you have multiple soundcards?

All kind of other sound is OK (without jack)
I've tried gxine and audacity without jack > OK
Starting jack and then gxine or audacity > no sound !?

I have only one soundcard (onboard)

The problem seems to be Jack !? :-/

I'm not a jack expert (I don't know jack), but can you post some screen shots of the settings page, and also the log when you try to start jack?

I don't see anything that jumps out at me...however, try changing the periods/buffer to '3'. Some sound interfaces, especially onboards, require this...

Did you make any custom adjustments to jack? Last time I used Ardour, it just worked...I didn't have to adjust anything to make it work.

P.S. Have you tried any other options under the 'Driver' drop down?

Nothing changed with buffer set up to 3
              I didn't make any adjustments
I tried dummy as driver (no difference)
