Re: Firefox3 on Dapper?
you won't find a deb package for Dapper. You can , however, get FF3 directly from mozilla, extract the files from the archive and run it from there. It is self-contained, and it won't add any menu entries or anything. I won't say 100 % if it will run in Dapper, but I think 98% that it will. To get a package specifically for dapper would involve updating all the system libs so much you might as well update to Hardy. But the version from Mozilla is self-contained and has all the needed libraries built-in so it adds just a little bit of bloat but not too much.Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon

> UbuntuzillaWith the release of Firefox 3, the Mozilla Foundation decided to integrate the browser further with GTK+ 2. That is not a problem in itself and we understand the merits... the problem is depending on GTK+ 2.10 or newer which only the most recent distros have included.
Firefox 3 info

Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) has problems running the mozilla build of Firefox 3, due to it depending on newer versions of libraries than are present in Dapper. We are trying to figure out how to work around this, but for now, if you are on Dapper, you're stuck with Firefox 2.
