    Compiz-Fusion Help

I can run Compiz fine, but no windows boarders load, I have tried variouse methods, including emerald, but none seem to work.

Apart from that CF works fine.

    This is my xorg.conf:

    # /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf(5) manual page.
    # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

    Re: Compiz-Fusion Help

    Just a bit more info:

Running emerald after CF is started gives me:
emerald: Could not acquire decoration manager selection on screen 0 display ":0.0"

Running emerald --replace after CF is started gives me:
    (emerald:16410): Wnck-WARNING **: Unhandled action type (nil)

      Re: Compiz-Fusion Help

What does it say when you run
      Code:
      compiz
      in the console window?

If you have the Emerald package installed (i.e. you can see the Emerald Theme Manager with Kmenu>Settings), then I think all you need to do is check the Window Decorations box in the Compiz settings window. That would be KMenu>Settings>Advanced Desktop Effects Settings, then go down to the "Effects" section and put an x in the box in front of Window Decoration.

You might need to restart the x server after you do this, and again run
      Code:
      compiz
in the console. It is a little flaky to get it going -- it was on my rig too.

        Re: Compiz-Fusion Help

        Windows decorations are enabled.

        Compiz gives me:
There is already the kwin win manager running, you should use the --replace option to override it

        Running Compiz --replace gives me:
