    XP ICS Kubuntu clint

    hi,
    WindowsXP box is connected to internet and ICS is enabled, static IP is set on Linux Box. gatway is set to 192.168.0.1. o.k.
    my setting are as..

    NetWork settings- system settings

    Tab Network Interface show
    interface ip Address protocol state Comment
    eth0 192.168.0.4 dhcp rightmark Enabled Ethernet NetworkDevice
    Tab Routes
    Default Gatway
    IPAdress :192.168.0.1 DEvice:eth0

    Tab Domain Name System

    HostName : abc-Desktop
    Domain Name : Blank

    Domain Name Servers
    192.168.0.1

    Static Hosts
    ::1 ip6 localhost ip6-loopback
    127.0.0.1 localHost abc-desktop
    127.0.1.1 abc-desktop
    fe00::0
    ff00::0
    ..
    ...
    ..

    This is what my kubuntu6.06.1 Dapper settings are finally i couldnot brows through internet
    error message is -> unkown host www.google.com

    please help me

    Sharing an internet connection this way can be unreliable. You stated that you set the connection to static on the linux box but the info you posted shows DHCP. I would make sure it is static unless the windows box is handling nat and such.

    This would be much easier with a cheap router.
