    Customizing Kubuntu Installation

Hi, I need to customize my Kubunutu 6.06 installation CD so that when the user formats the computer and installs Kubuntu for the first time, it will automatically install the normal Kubuntu and Tomcat.

Than everytime the system starts, it will also start tomcat.

    How can I do that?

    Thanks,
    Komyg

Check out http://wiki.oss-watch.ac.uk/UbuntuDapper/Remaster for some info to *hopefully* point you in the right direction.

    Good Luck!!

      Re: Customizing Kubuntu Installation

Thanks for the site, It was very helpfull.

But I still have one doubt:

I am customizing the Kubuntu desktop CD and I need to ask the user for two values that will be written to a .properties file during the installation, because those values need to be set before the computer boots for the first time. I know that the Debian Installer has support for custom install questions, but I don't know how to ask those questions.

      Can anyone help me?

      Thanks,
      Komyg

Might be the place to start, but I don't know if there is support for the custom stuff you want. Maybe select OEM then add expert into the install options? I don't quickly see any links with info/contacts for more info. As it is still the Debian installer, it should just be a matter of calling the right options.

There is a channel in irc:
#ubuntu-installer, maybe someone in there might know
