    Problems with 64 Bit

Hello everyone!, I am facing a strange kinda problem. Kubuntu and RedHat linux starts pretty slow on my 64 Bit Athlon XP. For RedHat anaconda starts after about 2min. But in case of Kubunto ..when the scene for partitioning comes, the screen freezes. I have waited for more than half an hour ..but no proceed since. The version is 6.06 LTS(for 64 bit).

Have you checked the md5 sum of the iso that you downloaded? And, then after the burn. have you checked the md5 sums of all the programs on the CD? You can do the latter in Red Hat following these instructions.

However, even your Red Hat results are anomalous. It shouldn't take two minutes for Anaconda to come up, so (unless, you did two bad burns) you may have a hardware problem. Does the system work in Windoze? If you don't have windoze, does the system work in Knoppix?
