Installing a kubuntu-desktop live CD on a new harddisk.
Do I need an active network connection ??
(because it hangs, waits at "checking mirrors """""

Hi,

Yes it would be much better but you should be able to tell kubuntu not to check repos in a way in the installation... no ?
