    kubuntu not booting

    Hello
I installed kubuntu 6.06 alternate in an old Toshiba laptop (C 1.1, RAM 128 Mb, HD 20GB, w98) and everything went OK since this morning.
From then, when I try to boot, it says OK to everything in the first splash, then is shows a blank screen and the username prompt and again the blue kubuntu picture and it stops.
    Can you help me?
    Do you need more details?
    Thanks in advance

    Maybe this: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3085112.0

But I think 256MB RAM is the minimum recommended for Kubuntu -- you might not be able to make it work correctly. You might want to take a look at Xubuntu, which has "minimalist" system requirements.

Thanks for the quick reply, dibl.
The reason I've installed the alternate version is less RAM requierements.
And it has worked correctly (not fast, I must say) since today.
      Nevertheless, I'll go for Xubuntu.
