    Xubuntu bootsplash with KDE

    Hi,

I have a Dell subnotebook with Kubuntu Dapper running - that is, I had Xubuntu running, but after some less-than-optimal experiences with Xfce, I installed KDE. Now it´s running a bit slower, but I´m fine with that.
The funny thing is, I still have the Xubuntu bootsplash and only when the logon screen appears, it says Kubuntu. The shutdown splash is also Xubuntu. Nothing to worry about, but anyway.
    How could I change that?
    Many thanks!

P.S.: Also, I find it a bit funny that I have Synaptic on my notebook while on the Desktop (Kubuntu Edgy), it's Adept. Are there some deeper-running differences between the flavours of *ubuntu that I didn't know about? AfaIk, it's absolutely the same system, only different GUI...

    Regards,

Try K> "System Settings" > Advanced > "Login Manager", although I'm not sure that that's what you're looking for.
