    boot error

    Hi,

I'm a new user of kubuntu so, be patient...
I had a lot of difficulties with my discs formats and wiht kubuntu to recognize them.
When kubuntu is booting, after the progress bar, therre i a sort of shell page with a lot of numbers, and after one minute it says a thing like it cannot fix the clusters errors...
And after 2minutes, it seems to boot normally!

    ain'it strange?
    thanks for your help!

    Re: boot error

Is it referring to your harddrive clusters?

yes, it looks like it is making a hd analysis. There are a lot of numbers then it says "not fixing this" and hda1 and hda3 (those are my discs with windows, in fat32)...
Moreover, kubuntu doesn't allow me to write in the "first" folders of my fat32 discs but i can write in the folders which are second or further in the hierarchy...

Have you ever checked the file systems of those Windoze partitions? (Further reading ...)

no i haven't launched dosfsck yet. I prefer not to take the risk of losing data, the problem is not so serious...
