HELP! KUBUNTU wont boot/install

ok, i just tried to liveboot/install kubuntu and it wont boot or install...
my computer is basically this....

except i added some ram (768 megs now)
and a 256 meg geforce 5200 (PCI)
could anyone help me with this?
ive also tried to boot:
ubuntu(6.06)
sabayon(newest)
dreamlinux(newest)
suse(10.1)
so, i REALLY need someones help, PLEASE HELP ME!

i mainly want to know if its an incompatibility that is fixed with the newest version... if its worth spending my time to download...

I hate to ask such basic questions but how are you burning the CD's?? Remember they are ISO's and have to be burned as an image cd. What program are you using?? I think that's our problem. I checked out your link and your hardware is certainly way past good enough, so I think we need to start from the beginning.

Is your cdrom drive the first boot drive in your bios? Can you boot any live disc from your cdrom drive? If not you need to enter the bios setup when your pc first boots and make the necessary changes.

So did any of the other distro's work on this machine? Have you tried your Kubuntu disk on another machine? Any luck with that? We need to weed out whether or not it's a disk problem or a problem with your hardware. Also, if you have any other OS disks, such as an old copy of Windows, try to throw that in there to. It might be a CD-ROM problem as well.

i should have mentioned that i am dual booting with windows,
and NO other linux based OSs have worked in my box
this disc HAS worked in another machine tho
and it goes to the boot menu, like asking if i want to run/install or boot off HDD
or run mentest
(which i did, not the problem)

fedora core just finished downloading, ima burn that, try to see if i cant install then get back to you guys...

Is your CD-Rom reading other disks though? Also, you may want to look at the boot order on your machine. If you do not know how to do this, it's quite simple. On reboot, during the BIOS screen (usually showing you the type of hardware that is there and hardware checks) press F1 or F2 (it will usually say on the screen somewhere of what button to push to access the BIOS). Here you will want to check your boot order. Go into Advanced BIOS Features. Look for boot order. Here you will want to change it around to be CD-ROM before the hard disk. If you have never messed around in the BIOS before, be careful. You may want to search more on the net first to get a good feel for it, but there are some helpful pages out there to mess around in your BIOS. Remember, only change the boot order here and nothing else. It's possible to really mess up things in there.

i said it booted the disc, just didnt load the live or the install all the way
it READS THE DISC
:P
and it just freeses whilst loading the live, or installing

basically, i hit the disc menu.. i choose the top one ( i think i t says boot/install kubuntu)
and then it freeses when trying to do so...
for SUSE
it "installs"
but when i try to boot it fails
for sabayo
it cant load linux kernel
..
so idk

Sorry, I suppose I misunderstood. In your original post, you said it would not boot nor install. I'm kind of stumped at the moment. I'm fairly new to Linux myself. When you say that Suse installs, do you mean it actually goes through to partition the hard drive and everything?
