No hibernate button on 640m laptop and front panel button assignments.

Hi all, having a slight problem with my dell laptop and hibernation - there's no hibernate button on the shutdown screen. Other than this almost all the hardware seems to be supported amazingly well.
Regarding hibernation I have enabled it in system settings, laptops and power, laptop battery, acpi config. It seems to remember the settings ok but there is still no hibernate button.

Am using dapper and have done all updates after install.

todays system update made my suspend/hibernate buttons in kde start menu vanish as well... OS is kubuntu/intrepid with kde 4.1. It was a system update only, no dist-upgrade. Since I used adept notifier I don't recall exactly which packages where involved, but it seemed to be quite a lot (about 90 megs if I recall correctly) with a lot of kde4 related stuff.

I still can use the suspend/hibernate option if I choose shutdown and keep the mouse button pressed, but I'd like to get the buttons back in the start menu right away.

Maybe a package got uninstalled or what could be the problem?
