S-Video out - Geforce 6600GT AGP

I've tried again and again and again to get this to work, I got a 'sort of' result, a lot of 'no boots' and a few 'no changes'

So I'm asking for help. My S-video cable goes to the TV through an adaptor and an RCA cable. My LCD is on the VGA and is my preferred monitor, obviously. I like to use it to watch stuff while I browse. You know, like I do in Windows... I'd like to do the same in Kubuntu.

I have no idea what to modify, so here's my xorg.conf

Looks like you have the actual nVidia drivers installed. Did you have "nVidia Settings" under "System" on the start menu? Here I can set my default output which is DVI, seconday which is VGA, and then alternate which for me is component video. If you don't have it installed, I got mine by using Automatix. Automatix installed the most recent set of nVidia drivers and that app was installed with it. It's great for adjusting all your settings on your card. Automatix is just a gui based package manager for commonly used apps like flash, aMsn, Google Earth ect., however, it will install nVidia drivers, that nVidia settings console, and will even backup your xorg.conf file incase you can't boot back into X.

Oh yeah, I used automatix to get firefox, vlc, codecs, and java/flash, and of course the Nvidia drivers.

I have Nvidia Settings under System, but I don't see any options for enabling my s-video out...

You're not by chance running a session in Xgl are you? I am currently and noticed that I can't select an alternate output while running Xgl. I'm still going to do some more research on this and maybe I'm forgetting something I had to do before.

How would I check for that?


Also, I'm not even sure wher eot look in Nvidia settings, but I sure don't see any reference to my s-video/tv out
