input device issue?

When I boot up, I get about 4-5 minutes of my system running fine before the system freezes. I can't tell whether the machine has frozen up, or whether I'm having problems with my input devices because the power to my keyboard (ps/2) and mouse (usb or ps/2 - it does it for both) fails. Could this be due to a settings within Kubuntu that I need to change?

This happens when I boot using the live CD (although since I get about 5 min use I can install) and when I boot from the HD after installing.

Please help!

Re: input device issue?

Try using the text console for a while (press ctrl-alt-f1 and log in there). I'm not suggesting doing this permanently, but you may see more messages from the kernel that help pinpoint the problem there.
