Video input card setup and setting a fixed IP address

Let me state that these things are simple when using suse.
I need to edit modprobe.conf to it up for parameters on 4 to 16 input video cards. I've booted with the cards in place without the modprobe.cong and it adds 5 to 10 minutes to boot time - totally unusable!

The modprobe.conf that locate finds are to blacklist specific sound files ONLY!

Also, I can't set the LAN hardware to use 192.168.1.xxx - where ALL of my other systems run and where my cable interface router expects it to be! It also won't set autmatically.
Also, when I try Administration mode it just gives me a blank red-lined sqare.

And I will also need to set it up for automatic login and autostart for ZoneMinder after any reboot.

Probably I should go back to openSUSE!
