a really weird winmodem

i have a toshiba satellite laptop that has a winmodem integrated with the soundcard (WTF!?). Is there any hope of getting it working in Kubuntu. I have it dual booting with XP MCE and i hate having to download something and reboot to do anything with it in Kubuntu.

Probally not worth the trouble, if you have a serial port get yourself an external modem. if not there are some serial to usb adapters that will specify they work in Linux. shop around.
