    Sound sometimes works

I'm running Kubuntu Dapper Drake and have a Soundblaster Audugy soundcard. Sometimes the device is correctly identified and works perfectly when booting and other times the system boots and tries to use my onboard soundcard (and therefore I get no sound) . I don't seem to be able to switch between the two soundcards when the system is up and running - I have to keep restarting and trusting to luck as to which one is selected. Is there any way of forcing Kubuntu to ALWAYS use the Soundblaster card?

Is the onboard sound disabled in the BIOS?
