T440 Clickpad Right Button Emulation Not Working

I just did a clean install of 20.10 onto my Thinkpad T440. It identified my buttonless clickpad as SynPS/2 Synaptics Touchpad. However, when I attempt to set Right-Click to "Press anywhere with two fingers," the clickpad still doesn't recognize the right-click.

Previous versions of Linux I had running on it (most recently Mint 18.4) allowed this device to be configured. It also provided a three-finger option to emulate the middle mouse button.

Any ideas as to what's gone wrong here and how I might go about fixing it?

Probably need to try switching from the new-ish kernel driver libinput that is now built-in to the kernels on more recent distro releases than your previous Mint setup, and install the previous xorg input driver xserver-xorg-input-synaptics.
