    [SOLVED] VirtualBOX Host install

So, upgraded a machine to 19.10.

All in all very nice and impressive.

However, on this machine I cannot disable Secure Boot. On 19.04 VirtualBox runs fine but on 19.10 not so much so. Complains that the kernel drivers must be signed? New normal? Will VirtualBox take care of this?

I think VirtualBox should be there is no telling.

Hmm that was supposed to have been fixed in 6.0.10, I wonder if it for some reason is not in Ubuntu's packaging.
Are you using Ubuntu packages (6.0.12) or using Virtualbox's own?

VirtualBox's own. I always stay updated on their releases.

You might have to ask about it over on VB's website.
VB works fine for me, though I just checked. I thought I had left secure boot enabled, but apparently I didn't

There is a huge rigamarole one can try to make it work, but it does not seem reliable for everyone.

I have looked around and asked and it seems I myself would have to sign the kernel modules but the undertaking for that, as you eluded too, isn't that straight forward.

No big deal here. I can leave this one system on 19.04 and be fine.

Maybe one day VBox will provide that portion too. I'll keep watch there and see.
