WIFI 5Ghz network card

Can you tell me which network card works with 5Ghz, with built in drivers?

Or where can I find that list?
I once tested a TPlink, but it didn't worked...

It depends on the chip on your mobo. What does lspci or lshw show?

Intel wifi is almost always well supported, and many have 5ghz. Are you looking for a usb dongle, or for an addon pci card?

From the list in this link, which is supposed to be filtered on "linux", find one which actually has Linux listed in the compatibility list and includes 5G. Comment sections usually include remarks about Linux as well.

My mobo has a Atheros AR9462 Wireless Network Adapter chip. It is rated at a max speed of 256 Mbps. When my ISP was spectrum and I was paying $70/mo for 40Mbps, that chip was OK. Switching to a fiber optic ISP I bought 100 Mbps for $70/mo. Then, gratis, my ISP jacked my speed to 300 Mbps, and earlier this January to 500 Mbps while still only charging $70/mo. So now, I can use only half of my bandwidth because my chip is too slow. However, all is not lost. We also have two smartphones and two smart TV's, an IPv6 tunnel, and my wife's notebook that can take up part of the bandwidth. Seven devices all sucking on a 500 Mbps pipe. Only recently, during the covid-19 crisis, have I noticed that YT occasionally has a spinning wheel, something I never got since moving to fiber.

Just an update for anyone who might need the same.
I got this Edimax EW-7811UAC, installed the driver like they say here: https://edimax.freshdesk.com/support...gher-than-v4-1
And finally I have 5Ghz internet.
Everything OK now.
