Recovering from a Process Using 100 Percent CPU and Deadlocking the System?

I have a strange issue that keeps cropping up.

Occasionally a process appears that uses 100% CPU and deadlocks the system.

I don't know why or how this keeps happening, but if I restore using BTRFS backups it disappears and stays gone... for about a few months, then it's back again.

How can I recover without using cheats (BTRFS)?

Here is some data I got from the most recent event:

There is some `btrfs-transaction` going on (I have no idea what the source was, or how to find out).

Is there some way to recover from this using Live USB? By figuring out the source and purging that?

I have no idea how to handle this.
