Dolphin previews - separate entry for JPEG?

In the image below from Dolphin 19.12.3 (Configure Dolphin > General > Previews), there are two entries for images:
    Images (GIF, PNG, BMP, ...)
    and
    JPEG Images

Why are JPEG Images listed separately?

(I see the same thing with Dolphin 20.08.3 on an updated Arch install.)
    Kubuntu 20.04

Can't say, but seeing as jpeg has options that can be set, and the other one does not, this may be a clue.

Looking at it, jpeg can contain exif and other useful metadata, and the others do not, or the encoders don't often support it (png)
The jpeg may have data to allow its orientation to be set correctly, (as seen in the sole option for it) while the other formats do not.
