    GUFW firewall

    Hi.

I would like to block ip ranges from outgoing connections. This is an example of a rule I've created; It does not work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That rule will block tcp packets that are sent from IP 52.84.0.0 (the "From" field) to IP 52.95.255.255 (the "To" field)...probably not what you want (it does not specify an address range to block).

You can define IP address ranges with the cidr spec, for that particular address range you would need two rules, with "52.84.0.0/14" and "52.88.0.0/13" in the "To" field. (http://ip2cidr.com/ or https://www.ipaddressguide.com/cidr)

Thanks for the info, it's a good start to begin understanding how to successfully use this tool. I've underestimated the complexity of it, though, so I think I have a lot more reading to do.
