    [SOLVED] Kernel questions

I'm running Bionic and according to the system information it's using kernel 4.18.0-19. Yet I notice is Neon User and in the repositories there is a kernel 4.18.0-25. Why hasn't my kernel been updated to the latest one? Should I just leave it be?

What does uname -r show (in case the System Information is incorrect somehow)?
You can leave it be, maybe it hasn't made its way out to everyone just yet.

If you want it, make sure you have the package linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04 installed, this keeps one with the current HWE kernel which is the -25. I am not sure if Neon includes this package by default or not. Could be a bugaboo that it isn't. I'll have to ask.

I don't have it either, I have the same version you have, but I am running the 'hwe-edge' , which is the 5.0, which maybe supersedes the normal 'hwe' setup.

On Neon, I have the 4.18.0-19, but also do not have the linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04 package installed, as I went straight for the linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04-edge early on.
I can install linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04 with no problem and get the 4.18.0-25, but I don't really care as i am already on the 5.0.

Curious as to why it didn't go to the -25, considering I did get the recent 4.15 kernel update. I guess I had the 5.0 kernel before the 4.18.0-25 kernel was pushed to the repos.
This does not explain why the OP's Kubuntu didn't get the 4.18.0-25 one.

I decided to install the linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04-edge package and it updated correctly. I now have 5.0.0-21 installed and running fine. If only all life's problems were so easy to solve.
