    You could try f.lux. I've got that working on my Cinnamon install.

    There's a workaround on the Linux Mint forums for redshift that I couldn't get to work - but then editing config files is not something I had done before (Google search 'Mint Redshift and Geoclue2 workaround').

    One solution also there was simply to set redshift manually - which is what I've been doing. I presume this will work with Kubuntu too:

    Type into the terminal:

    redshift -O 6500 (for daytime)
    redshift -O 4800 (for evening)
    redshift -O 3800 (for night time)
