Firefox cannot resolve local DNS. Dig and nslookup work fine.

Pretty vanilla install of Kubuntu 17.10. Using Network Manager to DHCP my IP info, desktop applications don't seem to be using the DNS for local. External lookups, regular internet websites, working fine.

"$ sudo nmcli device show" Properly shows my DNS servers. Trying to get to https://pve2.test.local:8006 fails on Firefox, and Chromium. Links and ping also cannot resolve it.

Dig and nslookup can resolve it just fine, however. Adding the IP and hostname to /etc/hosts then things start working.

It appears Network Manager is not setting something correctly but I'm not sure what.
